舍卫城因缘。
那位比丘坐于一旁,对世尊说道:
"大德,是什么因、什么缘,使得这里某人身坏命终之后,往生到与居住于根香中的天众同在之处呢?"
"比丘,这里某人以身行善行,以语行善行,以意行善行。他曾听闻:'居住于根香中的天众长寿、美貌、多乐。'他便如此想:'啊,愿我身坏命终之后,能往生到与居住于根香中的天众同在之处!'他布施食物(中略)……布施饮料……布施衣服……布施车乘……布施花鬘……布施香料……布施涂香……布施卧具……布施住所……布施灯烛。他身坏命终之后,便往生到与居住于根香中的天众同在之处。比丘,这就是那个因、那个缘,使得这里某人身坏命终之后,往生到与居住于根香中的天众同在之处。"

23到112 心材香等布施助缘九十经

那位比丘坐于一旁,对世尊说道:
"大德,是什么因、什么缘,使得这里某人身坏命终之后,往生到与居住于心材香中的天众……(中略)……居住于边材香中的天众……居住于树皮香中的天众……居住于树皮片香中的天众……居住于叶香中的天众……居住于花香中的天众……居住于果香中的天众……居住于味香中的天众……居住于香气香中的天众同在之处呢?"
