31.(10) 乾闼婆身相应
1 纯净经
一时,世尊住在舍卫城祇树给孤独园。(中略)世尊如此说道:
"比丘们,我将为你们讲说乾闼婆身天众。请谛听。
比丘们,什么是乾闼婆身天众呢?
比丘们,有住于根香中的天众。比丘们,有住于心材香中的天众。比丘们,有住于边材香中的天众。比丘们,有住于树皮香中的天众。比丘们,有住于薄皮香中的天众。比丘们,有住于叶香中的天众。比丘们,有住于花香中的天众。比丘们,有住于果香中的天众。比丘们,有住于味香中的天众。比丘们,有住于香气中的天众。
比丘们,这些就被称为乾闼婆身天众。"
第一经。
2 善行经
舍卫城因缘。那位比丘坐于一旁,对世尊如此说道:
"尊者,是什么因、什么缘,使得此处某人身坏命终后,投生于乾闼婆身天众的同伴中呢?"
"比丘,此处某人以身行善行,以语行善行,以意行善行。他听闻到:'乾闼婆身天众长寿、容貌端正、多有安乐。'他这样想:'啊,愿我身坏命终后,能投生于乾闼婆身天众的同伴中!'他身坏命终后,便投生于乾闼婆身天众的同伴中。
比丘,这就是那个因、那个缘,使得此处某人身坏命终后,投生于乾闼婆身天众的同伴中。"
第二经。
3 根香布施者经
舍卫城因缘。那位比丘坐于一旁,对世尊如此说道:
"尊者,是什么因、什么缘,使得此处某人身坏命终后,投生于住在根香中的天众的同伴中呢?"
"比丘,此处某人以身行善行,以语行善行,以意行善行。他听闻到:'住在根香中的天众长寿、容貌端正、多有安乐。'他这样想:'啊,愿我身坏命终后,能投生于住在根香中的天众的同伴中!'他是根香的布施者。他身坏命终后,便投生于住在根香中的天众的同伴中。
比丘,这就是那个因,(中略)使得此处某人身坏命终后,投生于住在根香中的天众的同伴中。"
第三经。
4到12 心材香等布施者九经
舍卫城因缘。那位比丘坐于一旁,对世尊如此说道:
"尊者,是什么因、什么缘,使得此处某人身坏命终后,投生于住在心材香中的天众的同伴中……(中略)……住在边材香中的天众的……住在树皮香中的天众的……住在薄皮香中的天众的……住在叶香中的天众的……住在花香中的天众的……住在果香中的天众的……住在味香中的天众的……住在香气中的天众的同伴中呢?"

他身坏命终后,便投生于住在香气中的天众的同伴中。
比丘,这就是那个因、那个缘,使得此处某人身坏命终后,投生于住在香气中的天众的同伴中。"

【译注说明】
此相应讲述了乾闼婆(香神、音乐天神)身天众的分类。乾闼婆意为"食香者",是依附于各种香气中的天神。经文列举了十类:根香、心材香、边材香、树皮香、薄皮香、叶香、花香、果香、味香和香气,说明投生为这些天众的因缘是三业善行、发愿往生以及布施相应的香物。

Ekamantaṃ nisinno kho so bhikkhu bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – “ko nu kho, bhante, hetu, ko paccayo, yena midhekacco kāyassa bhedā paraṃ maraṇā gandhabbakāyikānaṃ devānaṃ sahabyataṃ upapajjatī”ti? “Idha, bhikkhu, ekacco kāyena sucaritaṃ carati, vācāya sucaritaṃ carati, manasā sucaritaṃ carati. Tassa sutaṃ hoti– ‘gandhabbakāyikā devā dīghāyukā vaṇṇavanto sukhabahulā’ti. Tassa evaṃ hoti– ‘aho vatāhaṃ kāyassa bhedā paraṃ maraṇā gandhabbakāyikānaṃ devānaṃ sahabyataṃ upapajjeyyan’ti. So kāyassa bhedā paraṃ maraṇā gandhabbakāyikānaṃ devānaṃ sahabyataṃ upapajjati.
