13 精进经
"比丘们,有四种正精进。哪四种?在此,比丘们,
比丘为了防止尚未生起的恶不善法生起,生起欲望,努力,奋发,策励心,精进;
为了断除已生起的恶不善法,生起欲望,努力,奋发,策励心,精进;
为了令尚未生起的善法生起,生起欲望,努力,奋发,策励心,精进;
为了令已生起的善法住立、不忘失、增长、广大、修习、圆满,生起欲望,努力,奋发,策励心,精进。
比丘们,这就是四种正精进。"
"正精进者征服魔境,
他们不执著,超越生死怖畏。
他们欢喜,战胜魔军,无忧,
超越一切魔力,快乐。"
这是第三经。
14 防护经
"比丘们,有四种精进。哪四种?防护精进、断除精进、修习精进、守护精进。
什么是防护精进?在此,比丘们,比丘以眼见色时,不取相、不取细相。因为若住于不防护眼根,则贪忧恶不善法会流入,他为防护而实行,守护眼根,成就眼根防护。以耳闻声时...以鼻嗅香时...以舌尝味时...以身触所触时...以意识法时,不取相、不取细相。因为若住于不防护意根,则贪忧恶不善法会流入,他为防护而实行,守护意根,成就意根防护。比丘们,这称为防护精进。
什么是断除精进?在此,比丘们,比丘不容忍已生起的欲寻,断除、驱逐、灭除、令不存在;不容忍已生起的瞋寻...不容忍已生起的害寻...不容忍已生起的恶不善法,断除、驱逐、灭除、令不存在。比丘们,这称为断除精进。
什么是修习精进?在此,比丘们,比丘修习念觉支,依止远离、依止离贪、依止灭尽,趣向舍离;修习择法觉支...精进觉支...喜觉支...轻安觉支...定觉支...舍觉支,依止远离、依止离贪、依止灭尽,趣向舍离。比丘们,这称为修习精进。
什么是守护精进?在此,比丘们,比丘守护已生起的殊胜定相:骨想、虫噉想、青瘀想、腐烂想、膨胀想。比丘们,这称为守护精进。
比丘们,这就是四种精进。"
"防护与断除,
修习与守护,
这四种精进,
日亲所宣说。
比丘在此精进,
能达苦灭尽。"
这是第四经。
15 施设经
"比丘们,有四种最上施设。哪四种?
比丘们,在有身者中,阿修罗王罗睺最上。
比丘们,在享欲者中,满度王最上。
比丘们,在主权者中,魔罗波旬最上。
比丘们,在天、魔、梵世界中,在沙门、婆罗门、天、人众中,如来、阿罗汉、正等正觉者被称为最上。
比丘们,这就是四种最上施设。"
"罗睺为有身者最上,
满度为享欲者最上,
魔罗为主权者最上,
以神通名声光耀。
上下四方及四维,
一切世间所行处,
天人世界中,
佛陀称最上。"
这是第五经。
16 微妙经
"比丘们,有四种微妙。哪四种?
在此,比丘们,比丘具足最上色微妙;以此色微妙,他不见有其他更高更妙的色微妙;以此色微妙,他不希求其他更高更妙的色微妙。
他具足最上受微妙;以此受微妙,他不见有其他更高更妙的受微妙;以此受微妙,他不希求其他更高更妙的受微妙。
他具足最上想微妙;以此想微妙,他不见有其他更高更妙的想微妙;以此想微妙,他不希求其他更高更妙的想微妙。
他具足最上行微妙;以此行微妙,他不见有其他更高更妙的行微妙;以此行微妙,他不希求其他更高更妙的行微妙。
比丘们,这就是四种微妙。"
"知色微妙性,
及诸受生起,
想从何处生,
又往何处灭。
知行为他性,
是苦非是我。
如是正见比丘,
寂静乐寂灭,
持最后身躯,
战胜魔及军。"

13. “Cattārimāni, bhikkhave, sammappadhānāni. Katamāni cattāri? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu anuppannānaṃ pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ anuppādāya chandaṃ janeti vāyamati vīriyaṃ ārabhati cittaṃ paggaṇhāti padahati; uppannānaṃ pāpakānaṃ akusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ pahānāya chandaṃ janeti vāyamati vīriyaṃ ārabhati cittaṃ paggaṇhāti padahati; anuppannānaṃ kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ uppādāya chandaṃ janeti vāyamati vīriyaṃ ārabhati cittaṃ paggaṇhāti padahati; uppannānaṃ kusalānaṃ dhammānaṃ ṭhitiyā asammosāya bhiyyobhāvāya vepullāya bhāvanāya pāripūriyā chandaṃ janeti vāyamati vīriyaṃ ārabhati cittaṃ paggaṇhāti padahati. 14. “Cattārimāni bhikkhave, padhānāni. Katamāni cattāri? Saṃvara-ppadhānaṃ, pahānappadhānaṃ, bhāvanāppadhānaṃ, anurakkhaṇāppadhānaṃ. Katamañca, bhikkhave, saṃvarappadhānaṃ? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu cakkhunā rūpaṃ disvā na nimittaggāhī hoti nānubyañjanaggāhī. Yatvādhikaraṇamenaṃ cakkhundriyaṃ asaṃvutaṃ viharantaṃ abhijjhādomanassā pāpakā akusalā dhammā anvāssaveyyuṃ tassa saṃvarāya paṭipajjati, rakkhati cakkhundriyaṃ, cakkhundriye saṃvaraṃ āpajjati. 15. “Catasso imā, bhikkhave, aggapaññattiyo. Katamā catasso? Etadaggaṃ, bhikkhave, attabhāvīnaṃ yadidaṃ– rāhu asurindo. Etadaggaṃ, bhikkhave, kāmabhogīnaṃ yadidaṃ– rājā mandhātā. Etadaggaṃ, bhikkhave, ādhipateyyānaṃ yadidaṃ– māro pāpimā. Sadevake, bhikkhave, loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya tathāgato aggamakkhāyati arahaṃ sammāsambuddho. Imā kho, bhikkhave, catasso aggapaññattiyo”ti.
“Rāhuggaṃ attabhāvīnaṃ, mandhātā kāmabhoginaṃ;
Māro ādhipateyyānaṃ, iddhiyā yasasā jalaṃ.
“Uddhaṃ tiriyaṃ apācīnaṃ, yāvatā jagato gati;

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu rūpasokhummena samannāgato hoti paramena; tena ca rūpasokhummena aññaṃ rūpasokhummaṃ uttaritaraṃ vā paṇītataraṃ vā na samanupassati; tena ca rūpasokhummena aññaṃ rūpasokhummaṃ uttaritaraṃ vā paṇītataraṃ vā na pattheti.
